This policy explains how Vigil Compliance Ltd (“we”, “us”) handles personal data collected through this website, in line with UK data protection law including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect and why
If you subscribe to our email updates, we collect your email address and a record of your consent. We use it to send you updates about Martyn’s Law guidance, enforcement news and free resources. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
If you use our eligibility checker, your answers are processed in your browser and are not stored by us unless you choose to email yourself the result.
If you contact us by email or through the contact form on this site, we collect your name, email address and message, and keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal data. Email subscriptions are processed by our email service provider acting as a data processor on our behalf.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
